Paul Willis

Paul is a retired high school biology teacher, and worked as a medical laboratory technologist while in the Army. He graduated from Pittsburg State University, received a master’s from Kansas State University and graduated as a specialist in education from Emporia State University.

He was the recipient of the Outstanding Biology Teachers’ Award for Kansas, and the Kansas Master Teacher Award. He is a member of The Nature Conservancy, Kansas Ornithological Society, Kansas Native Plant Society, Grassland Heritage Foundation, Kansas Association for Conservation and Environmental Education, and the Kansas Association of Biology Teachers.

Paul has held several leadership positions within the Topeka Audubon Society, and served as past president for four years in Audubon of Kansas--as well as field trip chair, vice president, and secretary.

Since his retirement, Paul has been active in the Shawnee County Extension Master Gardeners, working actively with native plant demonstration gardens. Paul is a nature enthusiast, delighting in observing and photographing nature. He is very active in promoting the conservation of the natural ecosystem.
