Learn about our recent work with the Kansas legislature.

Our Goals

*Enhancing environmental education and nature appreciation programs for all age groups;

*Facilitating the establishment of nature centers and wildlife sanctuaries;

*Maintaining an effective presence at the Kansas legislature and with governmental agencies at all levels to provide a voice for conservation of wildlife and their habitat;

*Launching initiatives designed to instill greater pride in Kansas prairies and prairie landscapes, while leading a grassroots movement dedicated to the conservation of Prairie Chickens and other grassland birds;

*Sponsoring programs designed to assist both rural and urban landowners restore and/or improve wildlife habitat on farms, ranches and residential properties throughout the state;

*Forging partnerships with business leaders and others committed to enhancing our quality of life by providing opportunities for involvement in development of local and state-wide nature-based activities;

*Participating in 'Partners in Flight" initiatives designed to reverse the plight of neotropical migratory birds and other species that nest in or migrate through Kansas; Establishing an "Important Bird Areas" program designed to identify and conserve important bird habitat;

*Establishing an "Audubon Conservation Leadership Alliance" committed to working in partnership with hunters, anglers, and others interested in Kansas wildlife.
