Ron Klataske to Retire After 21 Years with Audubon of Kansas
Ron Klataske, Executive Director of Audubon of Kansas, will retire at the end of 2020. A search for a new executive director has begun.

sanctuaries system which Klataske has established.
“Replacing Ron Klataske won’t be an easy task,” said Margy Stewart, Chair of the Board of Trustees. “Ron’s conservation record is unparalleled.”
This record was recently acknowledged by the Western Association of Fish & Wildlife Agencies (WAFWA) when it presented Klataske with the “President’s Award” for conservation successes achieved in Kansas, Nebraska and the central Great Plains. During the past 50 years, Klataske has spearheaded conservation campaigns while representing the National Audubon Society from 1970 to 1998 and Audubon of Kansas since 1999.
“I invite people to browse through past issues of Prairie Wings. They will be amazed at everything that Ron has accomplished over the years,” said Margy Stewart. “We are looking for someone truly special to succeed Ron as executive director. We must ensure that Audubon of Kansas’s advocacy for wildlife continues vigorously into the future.”
