The Flint Hills are the last remaining contiguous landscape of tallgrass prairie in North America, one of the continent’s most imperiled ecosystems. Less than 4% of native tallgrass prairie remains intact. The Flint Hills and other temperate grasslands form one of the world’s most endangered and least protected biomes.
